ABOUT US
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. (NCBW) was founded in New York City by a collective of visionary African American women committed to driving social change and amplifying the voices of Black women and girls.
The Birmingham Metropolitan Chapter has a rich history dating back to 1982, when Mrs. Minnie G. Gaston established it as the Jefferson County Chapter. Officially incorporated in Alabama in 1989, our chapter played a pivotal role as one of the 25 founding chapters of NCBW.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we focus on fostering leadership, advocating for policy change, and implementing programs that create meaningful opportunities for Black women and girls. Through collaboration with community partners, we champion initiatives in education, health, and economic empowerment to drive lasting impact.
